TROPICAL GHANA DELIGHTS COOKBOOK RELEASE & SAMPLING

New York, NY - Charles Cann officially announced the release for his cookbook Tropical Ghana Delights with the relaunch of his website www.tropicalghanacookbooks.com today.

In offering friends an opportunity to enjoy Ghanaian cuisine, Charles Cann, a native of Ghana, started the Tropical Ghana cookbook series.

Cann, a Northwestern University alumnus, tropical Ghana chef, entrepreneur, film sound mixer and author has been blessed to share his cooking style developed from his native home Ghana to the rest of the world. Charles runs his own business and spends time exploring ingredients to develop new recipes.

Cann's recipes are developed with care to get the best flavors and taste. He combines traditional and non-traditional Ghanaian cooking techniques in a refreshing way by infusing it with fruits. In doing this, he uses his book to highlight a less celebrated side of Ghanaian cooking - hors d'oeuvres.

Charles Cann, in the introduction to the book states, "Because of my upbringing as a farmer and my daily use of fresh produce from the garden, I restrict my ingredients to mostly fresh foods." Cann's use of fresh food is for a healthier choice and a better taste.

To help make a difference in the lives of less privileged children in Ghana, part of the proceeds of Tropical Ghana cookbook series will go to the Tropical Ghana Spirit fund.

Tropical Ghana Delights cookbook release coincides with the launch of the Tropical Ghana Spirit fund, which Charles set up to help and provide food for less privileged children in Ghana with a focus on education. Cann's idea is that as people enjoy the recipes in his cookbook, they are also encouraging a child in Ghana to stay in school by nourishing youth with meals that will help them remain focused on achieving their goals.

Before attending Northwestern University, Charles attended Harper College, Palatine, Illinois, where he started an educational drive to help less privileged children in the neighborhood he grew up in, in Ghana. With its success and a drive to help more children, Cann researched ways to sustain the educational drive. After graduating from college and starting a cookbook series, Cann connected the educational drive to his cookbooks – you enjoy Ghanaian cuisine and at the same time support a less privileged child in Ghana.
