| March 2008 ... Tropical Ghana Spirit Fund & Mount Mary Schools |
|

In February 2008, I set out to find a school with kids who needed help and God answered my prayer and brought Mrs. Ezan,
founder of Mount Mary Schools to my doorstep.
I had a phone conversation with Mrs. Ezan after which she followed up with letter. After reading the letter,
I thank God that Mount Mary School s' vision fell in line with the mission of Tropical Ghana Spirit fund.
Upon visiting Mount Mary, I learned at first hand the plight of the kids attending the school. I had no option than to act right away. Through Tropical Ghana Spirit fund, three kids in Mount |
Mary Schools' maiden Junior High School class received assistance.

During the last 12 years of my career, I have headed a vocational/technical institute in
Accra where deprived children in a deprived area in Accra are trained in various vocational/technical disciplines to give such children some
vocation for life.
Following the experience I have had in looking after the under-privileged students,
I decided to establish the above Nursery School in a deprived area in Ofankor, a suburb in Accra to encourage and give children in
that area an opportunity to acquire education during their formative years in an ideal surroundings.
Consequently, Mount Mary Schools was established in June 1998 at Ofankor in Accra, at a cost of some 80 million Cedis to cater for these
under-privileged children in this area, aged between 3 and 5 years. The aim of the school is to give children in that age group
good educational foundation for their future development.
The school started with 5 pupils in June 1998 and as at the end of November, 2007 students population has increased to 270.
30 teachers and 3 attendants are presently employed. School fees have been pegged at an uneconomic level considering the economic
circumstances of the people in the area, many of who are single parents.
